Istanbul championships: Pamela Jelimo qualifies for final

Olympic 800 metres champion Pamela Jelimo signalled her return to the international scene on Friday by qualifying for the two-lap race final at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.
Jelimo, who has been out of action for almost three years owing to an injury, blasted past leader Nataliia Lupu (Ukraine) on the last bend only to run out of gas for Yuliya Rusanova to triumph under the wire.
Jelimo and Lupu however embraced some anxious moments after they were made to wait until the last of the three heats to know their fate.
