Top seed Serena Williams and her older sister Venus are back in the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam.

Venus Williams continued her impressive resurgence at the Australian Open defeating sixth-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska 6-3, 2-6, 6-1. While Serena Williams defeated Garbine Muguruza 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Serena has won five Grand Slam titles in the interim, lifting her tally to 18, while seven-time major winner Venus has labored for years since being diagnosed in 2011 with Sjogren’s syndrome, which causes fatigue and inflammation. She had only been beyond the third round once at a Grand Slam event since the start of 2011, and many thought she would never return to the last eight.

Venus will face 19-year-old Madison Keys – who was inspired to play tennis by watching the Williams sisters, while Serena will face Dominika Cibulkova.
