Rick Wade may challenge Tim Scott for South Carolina Senate seat in historic race

Rick Wade (pictured), a former senior adviser in the Obama administration and deputy chief of staff at the U.S. Commerce Department, is reportedly considering a run against Republican South Carolina Senator Tim Scott.

Mr. Wade’s decision to run for the senate seat sets up an historic race between two African American candidates for statewide, federal office in South Carolina.

Neither Scott or Wade is expected to face a primary challenge.
