Zimbabwe elections 2013: Presidential candidate Simba Makoni withdraws from race

Zimbabwe presidential contender Simba Makoni has withdrawn his candidacy in a bid to back a single candidate that will run and possibly defeat the incumbent president Robert Mugabe in the coming presidential election which is slated for July 31.

The remaining opposition candidates namely: Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, Dumiso Dabengwa, Reketayi Semwayo and Edwin Mushoriwa are expected to withdraw in favor a the candidate that stands the strongest chance of winning the election.

Makoni did not endorse any candidate.
