Serena Williams achieves milestone – 150 Straight weeks at No.1
With the start of the 2016 season, Serena Williams has hit yet another milestone in her illustrious career – her 150th week in a row as World No.1.
It was on Monday, February 18, 2013, right after reaching the finals in Doha, when Serena regained the No.1 ranking, her first time back at the top since her career-threatening injury and illness lay-off for 11 months across 2010 and 2011.
It is the third-longest streak at No.1 in WTA history – and she is closing in fast on second:

156 weeks – Martina Navratilova (June 14, 1982 to June 9, 1985)
150 weeks – Serena Williams (February 18, 2013 to present)
In those 150 weeks, 5 different players have spent time at No.2 right behind her:
Maria Sharapova (54 weeks)
Victoria Azarenka (36 weeks)
Simona Halep (30 weeks)
Li Na (25 weeks)
Petra Kvitova (5 weeks)
She ha s gone 171-13 since regaining No.1. – (66-2 in 2013, 52-8 in 2014 and 53-3 in 2015).
She has won 22 of 39 tournaments she’s played since regaining No.1. – (10 in 2013, 7 in 2014 and 5 in 2015).
She has won 6 of 11 Grand Slams she’s played since regaining No.1. – (2 in 2013, 1 in 2014 and 3 in 2015).
It is also her 273rd overall week at No.1, trailing only Graf (377) and Navratilova (332) on that list.
