Presidential Election in Cameroon
Armed men dressed as soldiers fired into the air and stopped traffic in south Cameroon last week, demanding the departure of long-serving President Paul Biya (pictured) ahead of the presidential election.
A large proportion of the population in Cameroon feels that Biya has been in power for too long.
Biya, is 78 years old. He has already been in power for 29 years and if he wins the upcoming elections, he will be in office for another 7 years. But the longevity of his rule has been criticised by many people, particularly young Cameroonians.
Latest reports indicate that both opponents and supporters of Biya are concerned that he plans to win the election fraudulently.
