Friday, May 8, 2015

Nigeria's President-elect., Muhammadu Buhari

With three weeks remaining before his inauguration as Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari has started putting his cabinet together.

According to officials in his All Progressives Congress (APC) party, the cabinet is likely to be a lean one – with an eye on reducing the size of government, while maintaining efficiency.

President-elect Buhari while unveiling his economic policies at a Lagos Business School breakfast meeting on Tuesday, noted that he would cut down the number of ministers to be appointed. He maintained that individuals with any whiff of corruption or any kind of taint will not be in the new cabinet.

While on the campaign trail, Buhari promised to fight corruption and insecurity, and introduce more policies that would enhance the economic growth witnessed by the country in the past 10 years.

The full list of the cabinet will be unveiled within one week after the administration is inaugurated on May 29.
