Ivorian star Yaya Touré hints at retirement from International Soccer
Manchester City star Yaya Touré has hinted that he may retire from the international stage with Ivory Coast, and could soon make an official announcement.
Touré hinted that his international career with the Ivoirian national team may be drawing to an end, saying that he is still undecided as to whether he will retire suggesting that there are younger players who deserve their chance.
“My future? You have to wait. Now, my target is done,” he told reporters.
“We have to wait for a couple of days and see what we can do. My brother has retired, as well. The time of the youngsters will come soon. We need to let them.”
Touré, 31, captained his nation to African Cup of Nations victory in January, highlighted that particular feat, but reiterated that he still needs more time to decide his future with his national team.
“It is always beautiful when everything is going in the right way. I am delighted with the trophy of 2015,” he added. “Now we just want to focus, I will wait a couple of days before we decide my future.”
Yaya Touré has played 91 times for Ivory Coast, scoring 18 goals along the way.
