Andrew Holness retains his position as the leader of the Jamaica Labor Party
Former Jamaican prime minister, Andrew Holness, has retained his job as the leader of the opposition Jamaica Labor Party (JLP).
This follows his victory over his rivals in a secret ballot among Jamaica Labor Party members of parliament at a caucus called yesterday to determine whether he (Holness) would continue on as leader of the opposition.
Yesterday’s vote also signaled that the anti-Holness faction is declining among those who favored his rival – former finance minister Audley Shaw in the bitter 2013 leadership race.
