Saturday, April 12, 2014

Turkey and Senegal have signed an agreement to create a business council between the two countries.  According to a report by World Bulletin, the two countries participated in the ceremony in Ankara, Senegal’s Foreign Minister pointed out the importance of establishing such a business council and said Senegal expects more Turkish investors in the country.

Trade between Turkey and Senegal hit $125 million in 2013, an increase from $19.4 million in 2002.  “Improving the life standards of the Senegalese people and creating new interest areas are as important as economic and social developments,” Mankeur Ndiaye added.

“Africa has a vital importance in Turkey’s targets. You can see that by looking at trade volume figures,” Faik Yavuz, a member of the Turkish Union of Chambers’ Presidency Council, added.  “We are ready, we have the council, we have the money. The only thing lacking is gathering the businessmen to make it happen,” president of Senegal’s Trade, Industry, Agriculture Union of Chambers Mamadou Niang urged.
