London 2012: Usain Bolt joins Yohan Blake, Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay, Ryan Bailey in 100 m final

Usain Bolt now has a chance to repeat as the gold medalist in the men’s 100 meters after qualifying for the final at the London
Olympics.

Bolt who posted a time of 9.87 seconds finished first in his semi-final heat, even letting up toward the end.

Ryan Bailey of the United States finished second to Bolt in that heat with a time of 9.96 seconds.

Justin Gatlin of the United States finished first in the first heat with a time of 9.82 seconds. Bolt’s countryman, Yohan Blake, topped the third heat, finishing in 9.85 seconds, with Tyson Gay coming in second in 9.90 seconds.

The 100 meters final is slated for Sunday evening.

Usain Bolt will attempt to repeat as the gold medalist. He currently owns both the world record and Olympic record.
