A new survey indicates President Barack Obama with a 12-point lead over Republican challenger Mitt Romney in Pennsylvania.
According to a Franklin and Marshall College Poll released Wednesday, 48 percent of registered voters in Pennsylvania say they back President Obama, with 36 percent saying they support Romney, the former Massachusetts governor and presumptive GOP presidential nominee. Twelve percent were unsure.
Among independent voters, the survey indicates Obama with a 49 percent-27 percent lead over Romney.
“The president enjoys significant advantages over Romney in his personal popularity and most voters believe he is better prepared to handle the presidency even though they are ambivalent about some of his major policy initiatives,” says the poll’s release.
