The 18th Annual Women’s Collegiate Golf Classic/Championship April 27-29, 2012
(PRWEB) – The 18th Annual Women’s Collegiate Golf Classic/Championship (WCGC) will tee off at 12 Noon on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Stone Mountain Golf Course in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
The Women in Golf Foundation, Inc. (WIGF) is extremely pleased to host this exciting competition once again which will feature awesome talent from some of America’s top Historically Black College and Univeristies (HBCU) women’s golf programs as they compete for the “Renee Powell Cup”.
“The WCGC is honored to continue its celebration of African American women golfers,” stated LaJean Gould, founder and president of the foundation. Created in 1994, this event continues its mission of providing HBCU’s a season-ending competitive opportunity at a top-rated golf facility. The exposure to experts in the field, numerous networking opportunities, personal development, and life-skills enhancement is unmatched—there is no other program of this magnitude for young women of color.
This year’s event features:
Donna Orender, CEO Orender Unlimited and past CEO WNBA, as the motivational speaker for Friday morning’s professional development session. She currently serves as initiative leader for Golf 2.0, working with PGA of America to help expand opportunities in the game for women and girls. She and several other outstanding panelists will cover the topic: Women….The Future? LIMITLESS
Lauren Whitt, PhD, UAB’s Employee Wellness Coordinator and US National soccer team Pan American Games gold medalist, as keynote speaker for Saturday’s Championship Banquet.
