Disruptive Technologies Kenya, launches app to generate M-Pesa receipts

Kenyan start-up Disruptive Technologies has introduced an application available on Safaricom’s store, called MyRCPT which aims to help users generate PDF receipts from their Lipa Na M-pesa and M-pesa Paybill text messages, Techmoran reported. It will also help them file all their payments, rent and utility bills for accountability. The app is only available for Android but Disruptive says it is developing versions for other platforms.

The receipts supplement the SMS receipts that users get from M-PESA, so they can use them as proof of payment. The app costs KES 199 from the Safaricom Appstore. Recently, Safaricom acquired M-Ledger to help users track their M-PESA financial details for free and will be a Safaricom product rather than a standalone application.
