Why Obama Will Win in November 2012

I do not read the entrails of wild things to predict the future; and neither do I trust my gut. No. And on a regular basis, my blinders are on because I am also part of the crowd that makes its living in the Beltway. Here, in Washington, DC, we do not necessarily see beyond the borders of this great part of the District of Columbia. We are all focused on the grind – making this or that project work from the most powerful city in the world. Fortunately for me, I do not dwell here for all my days. I take a few breathes outside the wretched aspects of men and their numbers. And because of this, I am able to see what other people see. I am also able to read between the lines – away from the prognosticators and political apparatus. Thus, I say to you: Obama Will Win the Election this 2012 [so help me God]!

Of course I am laughing at your look of mock horror and veiled optimism. Yes. He will win. I am sure of it. But you ought to know that the facts are right there for anyone to pick up on. Fine! If you do not see the real story, let me elaborate it from what happened this weekend. First, Obama was hit with devastating news that the economy had only created less than 70,000 jobs. This is disastrous. And if you are Mitt Romney, this is another opportunity to spew polemic, wax conservative lyrical and basically be glad that no one is looking at you for solutions. As long as there is bad news for Obama, then he is basically cooked. But this is not going to happen. Yes … The stock market reacted by basically wiping out all the gains of the year, and do not be surprised to hear people speak to the ills that Obama can do.

Alternatively, let us think about things for just a moment. If the jobs numbers and economy are doing so badly right now and they are in the toilet, can you imagine what will happen next time they read the figures? If the numbers go back to about 100,000, then Obama will be a hero again. Yes … There is a chance that because stimulus dollars are running out, things are going to be so bad. Conversely, everyone needs to survive and so do not be surprised to see conservative governors admitting that the 2009 stimulus package worked. I actually spoke to this last week when I criticized Virginia’s governor. Then this week, he came out and said what everyone ought to say. Guess what is coming: More and more governors are going to have to give Obama more and more credit to the chagrin of the Republicans.

I also spoke to aspects around racism last time around. And then this past week, a major thing came out. Basically, many of the people that do not like Obama and actually intend not to vote for him are doing it because he is black. Simple and pure. What does this mean? Well … Simply, if many people were numbskulls, then Obama would lose. But a great many Americans are considered conservative egalitarians. This means that they see beyond their circumstances and believe in a certain generosity. Yes – even if they are not genuinely giving to Obama and his family, there is a chance that one amongst them will see that Obama is not that bad.

Next on my agenda, I can assure you that the Republicans do one thing very well: They overreach. They sometimes go out of their way to turn people off because they do not necessarily know when to stop. And they have basically been vituperative of anything Obama has done. Thus, they cannot go back and say they did not mean whatever it is they said. One of their own, Paul Ryan has this budget that basically tarnishes the country’s medical system in the name of austerity. Of course it is not going to be touched and like politicians do, he will have a few fair weather friends who will make suggestions and show support. However, these will go nowhere. In the end, the Ryan Plan will remain what it really was in the first place – a social Darwinism without the inevitability of Darwin. Extrapolating, people will see through the Republicans and go right back to Obama.

Now, a few aspects came out this week. We found out that one of the reasons Obama could lose is because the Independents consider Mitt Romney very unthreatening. He is not the socialist that Obama is and neither is he the radical that his arch nemesis is. But Obama is none of those things. In fact, he is pretty basic and annoying and very deliberative. That is why when he comes out swinging, it really stings like a bee. Obama has not played his trump card [excuse the pun] yet. He is still considered more popular than Mitt Romney in terms of likability [why did I not just say Obama is cooler than Romney?]. And he will, in a few days, go to the bank and collect on this good will. He could make the case that the Republicans have gone out of their way to screw the American people. He could tell the Americans that 600,000 jobs were sacrificed because the Republicans wanted to cut spending and cut taxes for the wealthy. He will force the Republicans to go to the wall and defend their positions. They will have nothing. Their talk of tax cuts stimulating the economy will be met with overall boos. They will have nothing [except, of course, the House and maybe the Senate and also have their ‘majority’ in the Supreme Court]. But they will not have the White House. That sacred place will be occupied by Obama – and in 2016, we shall have another Democrat. Hopefully, it will be Hillary.

Ps. Note that people like Oprah Winfrey and Colin Powell have not done their endorsing yet. They will wait until the time is right. See you on the other side.
