Trinidad & Tobago struck with magnitude 5 earthquake

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 rocked southern Trinidad & Tobago on Sunday night, the Trinidad-based Seismic Research Center (SRC) of the University of the West Indies (UWI) has reported.

It said that the earthquake, which occurred at around 9.36 pm local time (8.36 pm EST), was approximately 74 kilometers (46 miles) west of San Fernando and 87 kilometers (54 miles) south-west of Port of Spain. It had a depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles).

There have been no reports of damage or injuries as a result of the earthquake, which was located Latitude: 10.15N and Longitude: 62.11W. -(CMC)
