Sudan: Presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for April 2, 2015

Sudan will to hold presidential and parliamentary elections on April 2, 2015, Information Minister Ahmed Bilal Osman said.
Registration of candidates will begin on December 6 this year, with a final list announced on February 5 2015, Osman said by phone today from Sudan’s capital, Khartoum. The official campaigning period will run from February 13 to March 30, he added.
The ruling National Congress Party, led by President Omar al-Bashir, will decide on its presidential candidate at a party conference in October, Osman said.
Incumbent president, al-Bashir won the 2010 presidential elections, he has said he does not want to run for another term.
