Stafford Masie and his innovative Payment Pebble – disrupting the Mobile Payment Process
South African entrepreneur Stafford Masie, and his start-up, Thumbzup Innovations is disrupting the mobile payment process with his innovative, made-in-Africa product – the Payment Pebble.
The Payment Pebble – a mobile point-of-sale device is already available in South Africa through banking group Absa.
Masie is not resting on his laurels, his company is aggressively working to grow the product, and the Payment Pebble has been launched in Australia. In early fall, Thumbzup Innovations, opened up the Pebble platform to third-party developers – a move, which Masie believes will stimulate demand for the platform globally.
The Payment Pebble is gaining traction, Masie claims that over 30,000 merchants are already using it, with several thousand more joining each month.
