South Africa’s Rand Hits Fresh 2014 Highs Against the Dollar

South Africa’s rand went up in gains to a 2014 high of 10.2725 against the dollar on Tuesday. The currency broke through a 10.3000 technical level after a positive credit rating opinion from Moody’s in the wake of last week’s elections. At 1258 GMT, the rand was up 0.8 percent to 10.2800 to the dollar, from a 10.3610 close in New York on Monday.
