South Africa Wants Access to BlackBerry Messenger Service

The South African government wants police access to the encrypted messenger service on BlackBerry devices.
South African officials speaking at a telecommunications conference in London say the Blackberry messenger (BBM) poses security risks.
South Africa joins a growing list of governments seeking access to BlackBerry servers. Other governments like those in Saudi Arabia, India, Indonesia and the UAE have also sought monitoring or access to encrypted data on Research in Motion‘s (RIM)’s servers in the name of national security.
