Simone Biles wins her 8th Olympic medal

Simone Biles has secured the women’s team gold medal for the US in gymnastics.
Biles’ score of 14.666 clinched the victory, pushing the US women to the top. Italy claimed the silver, and Brazil took the bronze.
The arena erupted with chants of “U-S-A” as the crowd stood in celebration. This victory marks a significant moment in a remarkable comeback for the greatest gymnast of all time.
The American team, consisting of Biles, Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera, dominated the competition with a total score of 171.296. The atmosphere was electric in the packed venue, with celebrities like Serena Williams, Spike Lee, and billionaire Bill Gates in attendance.
This win gives Biles her 8th Olympic medal, surpassing Shannon Miller to become the most decorated American gymnast ever.
At 27 years old, Biles is now the oldest American woman to win gymnastics gold, breaking the previous record held by Aly Raisman, who won at 22.
With the team competition concluded, attention now shifts to the individual finals beginning on Thursday.
Biles and Lee have both qualified for the all-around final. Lee also qualified for the beam and bars finals. Chiles will compete in the floor final, and Carey will compete in the vault.
Biles has additional opportunities to add to her medal count, having qualified for the vault, beam, and floor finals, giving her a chance at four more medals in these Games.
