REDjet not abandoning low fares model

Friday, October 21, 2011

The CEO of REDjet, Ian Burns has re-iterated that the REDjet is a low fare airline and that it will not be abandoning its low fares model.

Burns rejected a suggestion that REDjet may eventually have to abandon its low-fare business model if it wants to continue adding smaller Caribbean islands to its destinations. The suggestion wase made by rival Leeward Islands Air Transport (LIAT) chief executive officer, Brian Challenger, who was reported as saying REDjet could face challenges similar to his airline.

Burns, stressed that REDjet was in the industry to encourage more people to travel to more places for less and its low-fares model would therefore not be changed.
