Eddy Martins Egwuenu
Net Worth on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE): US$54.2 million
Mr. Egwuenu is the second largest individual shareholder of the Zenith Bank Group. He also serves as a non-executive director of the company’s board. His stake is worth US$54.2 million
Oba Otudeko
Net Worth on the Nigeria Stock Exchange: US$63.3 million
Oba Otudeko, is a former banker and business man who owns a 15.4% stake in Honeywell Flour Mills, a NSE listed entity which is part of the largely private Honeywell Group. The Honeywell Group is a diversified conglomerate with interests in oil marketing, food production, engineering services and finance. Mr. Otudeko is also the largest individual shareholder in First Bank of Nigeria, one of West Africa’s largest financial institutions, where he holds a 1% stake.
Sayyu Dantata
Net Worth on the Nigeria Stock Exchange: US$67 million
Mr. Dantata is CEO and Chairman of oil marketing company MRS Oil. The company’s operations span several West African countries including Benin Republic, Togo, Cameroon and Cote D’Ivoire. He is the company’s largest individual shareholder, controlling 60% of the company.
Jim Ovia
Net worth on the Nigeria Stock Exchange: US$220.5 million
Mr. Ovia Co-founded the Zenith bank and has a 10 percent stake in the company. According to Forbes, a substantial part of his wealth derives from his large real estate holdings in Nigeria’s most expensive neighborhoods.
He has since stepped down as chief executive of the bank. He still remains the bank’s largest individual shareholder, controlling approximately 10%. He now runs Visafone, a Nigerian telecom outfit he founded in 2006.
Aliko Dangote
Net Worth On the Nigeria Stock Exchange: US$12.1 billion
Mr. Dangote is the owner of the Dangote Group, which is one of the most diversified business conglomerates in Africa and the largest manufacturing conglomerate in West Africa.
He was only 21 when he started his business after graduating from Al-Azahar University in Egypt. He became Nigeria’s first billionare on record.
