Black Health TV a groundbreaking, online video and social media website focused on the often ignored health issues of African-American consumers and physicians.
Black Health TV is the first health media company to explore and work with new technologies in order to connect with African-American viewers and by extension all people of African decent to browse and watch the latest health topics that matter most including: diabetes, cancer, hypertension, HIV/AIDS, women’s health, kids’ health and more.
Dr. Hebert is a very well regarded physician; he is an alumnus of Morehouse College where he earned his Bachelors degree in Science and Meharry Medical College where he earned his medical degree. After graduation he did his internship and residency at Tulane University Medical Center.
Dr. Hebert was chosen as Chief Resident of Pediatrics in 2000 at Tulane Medical Center which made him the first African American to hold that position in the history of that institution.
African Americans have a long-held mistrust of the medical industry, often foregoing medical treatment because of it. But Hebert hopes that Black Health TV will educate them on health issues and make them more comfortable and confident when seeking medical help.
“In my opinion, African-American people are afraid and distrusting of institutional medicine for several reasons. Historically, African-American people have grown up with knowledge about the Tuskegee experiment and its detrimental impact on the Black community.
