Amos Winbush III, is the founder and CEO of CyberSynchs.
CyberSynchs is a technology firm located in New York city specializing in developing universal data synchronization and streaming capabilities for electronic devices including digital camcorders and cable boxes, it (CyberSynchs) is presently in the process of developing and improving synchronization systems for cars and medical devices.
Winbush founded the company in 2008 and by late 2009, had generated revenues of US$ 2 million. The revenue to date is US$ 13.5 million, with more than 60 million users globally.
In the summer of 2008, Winbush, an aspiring musician at the time, was preparing tracks for his debut album when he noticed that his iPhone had gone black, resulting in the loss of all his contacts – this singular event led him investigate a way to synchronize data between his phone and his computer, and soon after, he recruited two software engineers on Craigslist and began work on CyberSynchs, which automatically backs up data on phones, computers, and mobile devices.
Winbush has partnered with Sun Microsystems to make CyberSynchs’s software compatible with Sun’s JavaFX platform, used by over a billion devices.
Amos Winbush III has also gone global, CyberSynchs already partners with telecom company Vonify in the Philippines; Widefense de Centroamerica, in Guatemala and has two subsidiary companies, for Central and South America and Africa.
Winbush’s advice to young entrepreneurs:
“Build a great team of people around you and don’t be afraid to ask questions. I was a music guy and knew nothing about tech. I found the people who knew about it to get the processes in order and to get the company up and running. Plan, execute and understand the plan will change. Don’t worry about the business plan as it will evolve over time. Just go for it and adapt as feedback comes in.”
