Nigerian tech company, Cellulant, to develop e-wallet solution for Afghan government

Nigerian tech company Cellulant, has been awarded a contract, by Afghanistan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock to establish market-based input distribution technology.

The aim is to bolster Afghanistan’s drive for self-sufficiency in wheat production.
According to Cellulant CEO Bolaji Akinboro, the AgriKore e-wallet will make life better for smallholder farmers.

The e-wallet system links farmers to the agricultural input supply chain, finance and markets.
The technology has enabled Nigeria to increase its food production by an average of 21 million metric tonnes annually from 2012 to 2015, a period of falling food prices and abundance food availability.

Cellulant has also exported the technology to other African countries in Africa such as Liberia, Togo and Uganda.
