Morehouse School of Medicine has announced it will receive US$18 million from Sanofi as part of a larger initiative involving three historically Black medical schools. This funding, distributed over the next decade, will benefit Morehouse, Howard University College of Medicine, and Meharry Medical College, with the goal of increasing diversity in clinical trials.

For Morehouse, the funds will be used to hire staff, improve infrastructure such as online chat services and pharmacy enhancements, and create specialized training programs, among other initiatives.

“Morehouse School of Medicine is exceptionally grateful to Sanofi for this investment in our Clinical Trial Center of Excellence,” stated Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, President and CEO of Morehouse School of Medicine.
