Meharry Medical College receives $20 million donation from anonymous benefactor

Meharry Medical College in Nashville has announced a US$20 million donation from an anonymous benefactor, following its record-breaking US$175 million gift in August this year.
Dr. James E.K. Hildreth, President and CEO, called the donation “extraordinary” and emphasized its role in expanding programs and scholarships, enabling more students to serve underserved communities. “The impact of this gift will extend far beyond our campus, touching countless lives worldwide,” he stated.
The college has seen increased philanthropic support in recent years, including a US$34 million gift from Bloomberg Philanthropies in 2020 to reduce student debt and US$6 million for COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
