kweliTV: A streaming service that showcases global African content launches in Beta

A new streaming service that showcases black films, as well as series and documentaries, that are of interest to African diaspora – but get less exposure in mainstream media channels launched in beta late last month.

The platform, kweliTV, is the brain child of journalist DeShuna Spencer – the CEO and founder.

According to Spencer, kweliTV is the bridge between a new crop of up and coming black filmmakers and the targeted audience looking for great content.

The name kweliTV is derived from the kiswahili word “kweli” which means truth. The new platform plans to offers documentaries, news programs, educational content and independent films representing the global Black community – the African diaspora.

The platform will officially be launched later this year.
