Thursday, January 15, 2015
Kenyan-based start-up accelerator Nailab, has unveiled the five startups selected for its fifth cohort, to participate in the 5-month program ending in June.
Nailab works to lower the entry barriers for Tech entrepreneurs who want to start and scale their businesses in Kenya and eventually expand into the greater east African region, by providing mentorship, assistance and at times funding.
Some of the startups that will be included in this cohort include the Ujirani mobile app which aims to digitize Kenya’s “nyumba kumi” community policing initiative. The app connects neighbors within specific areas using a secure and controlled geo-mapped system, as well as providing a distress call option.
