Jon Jones was forced to overcome his toughest ever test in the Octagon to retain his UFC light heavyweight title with an unanimous decision over Alexander Gustafsson in the main event at UFC 165 on Saturday night in Toronto.

Jones won with his closest margin with the judges scoring the five-round fight 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46.

Gustafsson, who entered as a massive 8-1 underdog, stunned Jones in many ways. He became the first man in the UFC to take Jones down and largely neutralized Jones’ wrestling.
