In a thrilling display of speed and endurance, Kenya’s John Korir claimed victory at the 2025 Boston Marathon with a time of 2:04:45. This remarkable performance marks the second-fastest winning time in the race’s storied 129-year history, solidifying Korir’s place among the marathon elite.

This win is Korir’s second consecutive triumph in a World Marathon Major, following his impressive victory at the Chicago Marathon last October. With his latest achievement, Korir continues to build on a legacy that runs deep in his family.

His older brother, Wesley Korir, etched their surname into Boston lore by winning the prestigious race in 2012.

The Korir brothers have now both conquered one of the world’s most iconic marathons, proving that talent – and perhaps a shared drive for greatness – runs in the family.

We congratulate, John Korir, for an unforgettable performance that honors your name and cements your legacy in the annals of marathon history.
