Jay Z’s Tidal looking to donate $1.5 million to Black Lives Matter and social justice organizations

Jay Z’s music streaming company Tidal is going to donate US$1.5 million to Black Lives Matter and other social justice organizations.
The company made the announcement last Friday – the same day Trayvon Martin would have turned 21 years old.
The money to be donated was raised at the Tidal X: 1020 charity event in Brooklyn, New York last October. According to sources affiliated to Tidal, the social justice organizations that will receive donation are Hands Up United, the Opportunity Agenda, the Baltimore Justice Fund, New York’s Million Hoodies, the New York Justice League, and the Illinois’ Black Youth Project.
Donations will also be given to organizations created by the families of victims of police brutality, including the Trayvon Martin Foundation, the Michael O.D. Brown We Love Ours Sons and Daughters Foundation and the Oscar Grant Foundation.
