Jamaican court acquits Canadian teacher of attempted murder

Paul Martin, the Canadian school teacher accused of slashing his wife’s throat while the two were on vacation in Jamaica, was yesterday acquitted by a panel of seven jurors.
Martin, who taught grades 5 and 6 was “overcome by emotion” when the verdict was read in a Hanover, Jamaica court on Tuesday, according to his lawyer.
