Thursday, March 27, 2014

African hotel booking website Jovago has launched in Kenya and Senegal as it seeks to bring hotel booking services closer to customers across Africa.  The company founded by African Internet Holding (AIH) launched in Nigeria last year as jovago.com and has recorded great success encouraging it to expand to other parts of the continent with robust tourism industry which provides a good market for Jovago’s services.

According to Marek Zmyslowskim, Managing Director of Jovago.com, “The hotel industry in Kenya and Senegal is currently presenting huge potential, just like it was in Nigeria when we first became operational there in 2013.”   He added that the company’s expansion into other markets in Africa makes it the number 1 booking portal on the continent, as we continue to ensure more customers experience the best hotel booking services on Jovago’s swift, reliable and user-friendly platform.

The company, which last month announced listing more than 2000 hotels across Africa on its website, will have even more with the expansion to Senegal and Kenya. It currently offers the widest range of African hotels, with more than hundred thousand hotels listed worldwide.

Africa’s rapidly growing middle class has increased the economics of tourism on the continent, with socio-economic activities also becoming more important.  This is what Jovago is leveraging on to provide its customers with the best hotels at the best prices as it builds its presence in Africa.  With Africa’s internet penetration of 16 percent, according to the International Telecommunications Union and a mobile penetration of 80 percent, according to TA Telecom; Jovago’s is expected to record massive growth in the new markets.
