Grenada to Expand Citizenship by Investment Outreach in West Africa

Grenada is ramping up efforts to promote its Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programme across West Africa, with a targeted marketing tour scheduled for October 2025. The initiative, led by the Grenada Investment Migration Agency (IMA), aims to broaden African participation and strengthen economic ties between the Caribbean nation and key markets on the continent.
Thomas Anthony, Head of the IMA, made the announcement during a panel discussion at the Fourth AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF2025). While Nigeria remains the top African source country for CBI applicants, Grenada is now focusing on expanding interest in Ghana, Kenya, and beyond.
“We’ve been actively exploring new markets across Africa,” Anthony said. “Our recent engagement in Kenya, in partnership with the Nairobi Chamber of Commerce, drew over 100 attendees – 25 percent of whom expressed serious interest in the programme at a follow-up private event.”
Launched to drive foreign investment into national development, Grenada’s CBI programme offers citizenship to investors who make a qualifying contribution or real estate investment. In return, successful applicants gain visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to more than 145 countries, including the UK, Schengen Zone, and China.
The upcoming West Africa tour will include Ghana as a key stop, reflecting Grenada’s strategy to diversify its applicant base and deepen regional partnerships. Anthony emphasized the broader vision: “We’re not just growing our applicant pool – we’re building bridges between Africa, Grenada, and the wider Caribbean, enabling investment and long-term economic protection through citizenship.”
Recent IMA data shows a rising interest from Africa, with multiple Kenyan nationals approved under the programme in the final quarter of 2024. As global demand for mobility and investment flexibility grows, Grenada is positioning itself as a strategic gateway for African entrepreneurs seeking international opportunities.
