Ghana in need of investors to build gold refinery

Sunday, March 30, 2014

The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini, has advised that his  government is ready to partner with any investor who will assist the country to build a refinery in order to add value to gold.  “It is unfortunate that a country that was branded as Gold Coast by our colonial masters has not been able to brand Ghana’s gold,” he said.

The Minister made this statement when Jeeva Sagar, Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, called on him to discuss how the two countries could strengthen their bilateral relationship. He stressed the need to build partnership to provide linkages that would move Ghana’s development agenda forward.  Mr Sagar expressed his country’s commitment to support the human resource development of the country. He showed this when he said, “As we put value on education, India will continue to support Ghana in capacity building.”
