Essence/Money Magazine: Florida A & M University (FAMU) ranked top HBCU, and 5th in the U.S.

Florida A & M University (FAMU) has been ranked by Essence and Money magazines as the top historically black colleges and university (HBCU) in the United States, and the 5th among all national universities and colleges for African American students
According to Essence magazine, the top 10 higher educational institutions for African Americans include 2 HBCUs namely FAMU at no. 5, and Spelman College at no. 6.
The publications analyzed more than 1,500 colleges to select the ones offering the best value for African Americans. Factors included graduation rates, net college costs after financial aid, graduates’ early-career earnings, as well as the racial climate on each school.
