Digicel starts campaign to support Caribbean Premier League

Monday, June 10, 2013

Digicel, sponsor of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL T20), has launched a marketing campaign in support of the T20 cricket tournament.

The campaign went live with the launch of Digicel’s “Play Your Part” Facebook competition where fans can win the chance to either present the “Man of the Match” award or conduct the coin toss for the opening Caribbean Premier League T20 games which will be held in the six host countries including: Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia and Trinidad & Tobago.

In addition, competition winners will also receive tickets to the Caribbean Premier League T20 finals in Trinidad & Tobago.

Inspired by the “Carnival T20” theme for the new tournament, Digicel’s marketing campaign will include its “We’ve Come to Play” advertising campaign, promotions, PR, as well as social media and online initiatives across its Facebook, Twitter and www.digicelcricket.com online platforms.

In the coming days, Digicel and Caribbean Premier League T20 will be rolling out the “Name the Mascot” campaign which will invite fans to submit a creative name for the character that is featured in the Caribbean Premier League T20 tournament logo. The winning idea will be adopted as the official name of the mascot for the lifetime of the tournament.

To help fans get access to the Carnival atmosphere of Caribbean Premier League T20, Digicel will also launch a “Text to Win” competition where fans can win an exclusive “Party Pass” that will grant them access to Caribbean Premier League T20 matches – including limo transfers to the stadium and access to the party stand for the winner and ten of his friends.
