Profile: Serial entrepreneur David Tarver

David Tarver

David Tarver co-founded his first company Telecom Analysis Systems (TAS), a manufacturer of advanced telecommunications test instruments. in 1983.

Under his stwardship, Telecom Analysis Systems grew from a startup based in his basement to a multimillion dollar company with customers in at least 25 countries countries. He then spearheded the sale of Telecom Analysis Systems to multinational British firm Spirent Plc., in 1995.

In 2001, Tarver founded a not-for-profit organization, the Red Bank Education and Development Initiative with a goal of improving academic achievement and opportunities for children of underserved communities in New Jersey.

Tarver is an alumnus of the University of Michigan, where he earned both his bachelors and masters degrees in electrical engineering.

Tarver continues to give back to the community, he has served on the National Advisory Committee for the University of Michigan; the Red Bank Board of Education, the National Commission on NAEP 12th Grade Assessment and Reporting, and several other civic and not-for-profit organization boards.
