David Adjaye slated to design Barack Obama’s presidential library

Thursday, May 7, 2015
It is almost certain that highly acclaimed architect David Adjaye will be selected to design U.S. President Barack Obama’s presidential library.
Adjaye, who was named the Wall Street Journal’s Architecture Innovator of the year in 2013, broke through in the United States by winning the contract to design the National Museum of African American History and Culture – currently under construction.
He will be the first non-American to design a presidential library, the official museum-archives built to commemorate U.S. leaders’ term in office.
Adjaye was born in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania, to Ghanaian parents; he now lives and bases his practice in London. He is the founder and principal architect of Adjaye Associates.
