Dangote outperforms Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, and others as he crosses the $20 billion mark

It is noteworthy that Aliko Dangote, the founder and CEO of the Dangote Group, has experienced a substantial increase in his net worth according to Bloomberg’s real-time billionaire index. The reported figure of US$20 billion marks a significant milestone for Dangote. The recent change in his valuation stands at +US$282 million, with a remarkable year-to-date (YTD) change of +US$6.91 billion.
In comparison to other prominent billionaires, Dangote’s YTD gain surpasses that of Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffet, and Bill Gates. Jeff Bezos’s YTD change is reported at +US$4.92 billion, Warren Buffet’s at +US$6.31 billion, and Bill Gates’s at +US$1.62 billion during the same period.
Starting the year with US$9.5 billion, Dangote, Africa’s second-richest man at that time, quickly surpassed the double-digit mark, reaching around US$14 billion as the month progressed. This achievement firmly reestablished his position as the wealthiest person on the continent, overtaking South Africa’s Johann Rupert, who was (briefly) initially valued at US$10.3 billion.
This notable increase in Aliko Dangote’s net worth reflects successful business ventures and investments, contributing to his status as one of the most affluent individuals globally.
