Dangote Cement continues expansion – launches in Senegal and Cameroon

Dangote Cement continues to record significant strides in its African expansion with the commissioning of new plants in Senegal and Cameroon which have commenced operation.
The US$300 million plant in Senegal – located in the Pout district of Senegal, about 75 km (46 miles) east of Dakar- is expected to create 5,000 jobs locally, with a total production capacity of 1.5 million tons annually and is said to be the single largest investment in Senegal by an African.
Dangote Cement plants in Ethiopia and Zambia are expected to start production in May 2015.
According to company officials, The Dangote Group (of which Dangote Cement is a subsidiary), “will not only stop at producing cement, the group is on track to becoming a major pan-African enterprise.”
