The construction of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African American History & Culture is currently underway and on track to be completed in 2015.

Four years ago, the Institution chose a team led by award winning Tanzanian-born architect, David Adjaye to design the new museum which will be situated in a prominent position on Washington DC’s iconic mall.

The building will form a cultural center where visitors can learn about the richness and diversity of the African American experience through a range of exhibitions and workshops.
