Wednesday, December 4, 2013

BlackTradeLines a mobile application that is connecting black-owned businesses with their customer base using mobile geo-location based technology.

Poverty is an economic problem that has dynamic and social effects on society. For the African American community, this is an everyday ongoing reality.

The African American community continues to have 1 out of 5 households living in poverty.

The African American community is now looking for new ways to support black owned businesses in order to create economic development within the community.

The BlackTradeLines app has been created as an effort to help African American shoppers locate and support black owned businesses during this holiday season. This is a result of an ongoing movement to get the African American dollar to circulate within the community to create jobs and alleviate poverty.

“The app is designed to be functionally intelligent and to serve its purpose which is to find and alert you of black businesses any where you go automatically,” says Iyua Yakobu, the company’s Sr. Software Engineer.
The app is available on both the iPhone and Android.

One of the key features of this app is its ability to search for African American owned business in stealth mode.
