The number of homeschooling black families is increasing.

According to the National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES), half of homeschooling families have incomes of $50,000 or less. Three quarters earn $75,000 or less.

“When African-American families choose to home school, by and large, it’s for the exact same reasons that anyone else home schools,” Ray said.
