Barbados is set to host the 11th Caribbean Urban Forum (CUF), the major annual regional event on urban planning, development, and land management from Wednesday June 15 to Friday June 17 under the theme: Beyond COVID: Recovery – Renewable – Resilience.

The Caribbean Urban Forum is the main opportunity for practitioners, policy makers and researchers to share experience, knowledge and strategies across the Caribbean.

Based on the theme, CUF 2022 seeks to learn from the experience gained while confronting the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This will include exploring sustainable land management and spatial development strategies and policies for Caribbean small island states as well as addressing the issues of renewable resources, resilience within a global climate crisis, sensitive economies and ecosystem services management.

CUF 2022 co-hosts include the Caribbean Network for Urban and Land Management based at the University of the West Indies’ St. Augustine campus. The Prime Minister’s Office in Barbados, the Caribbean Development Bank, the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States and the Inter-American Development Bank.
