Bahamas national air carrier Bahamasair has introduced the first female pilots in the company’s history.
Bahamasair announced Tuesday afternoon that in February, the three pilots, Gwendolyn Ritchie, Gail Saunders and Frances Smith, had each been promoted to Dash 8 aircraft captains.
The three were introduced at a ceremony Tuesday at the country’s Lynden Pindling International Airport.
They were joined at the introduction by Captain Paulo Cartwright, director of flight operations and Henry Woods, managing director at Bahamasair.
