African Americans look to Africa for business

(Xinhua) — Botswana’s enterprises association said on Wednesday transparency and democratic values of the country has lured black Americans to scout for business opportunities in the diamond rich nation.

In a statement released Wednesday, the Botswana Confederation of Commerce, Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM) said the National Black Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) in the United States, an economic empowerment movement of African American communities, has been in Botswana to explore business potential.

The mission consisting of 15 potential investors focusing on mining and energy, banking processing, infrastructure development and water management, security protection services, hotel construction and management, textile and apparel, health care and agribusiness, is expected to forge business linkages with local businesses.
