5.5 magnitude earthquake rocks parts of the Caribbean

An earthquake with a recorded 5.5 magnitude rocked several Caribbean islands on Tuesday evening but there were no immediate reports of injuries or death, the Trinidad & Tobago-based Seismic Research Center of the University of the West Indies reported.

The earthquake was located 8 kilometers (5 miles) south-west of Dominica and was also felt in Martinique and Guadeloupe.

The Seismic Research Center said that the earthquake occurred at 6.08 pm EDT and residents in St. Lucia and Antigua & Barbuda also claimed to have felt the tremor. -(CMC)
